Local artists and makers display their work in a domestic setting

“extraordinary art in ordinary houses”

Actually, none of the houses are “ordinary”. On the contrary, the trail is spread between properties of totally different architectural styles that are in themselves of real interest, along with some delightful gardens.

Original art across a wide variety of media.

There will be over 70 artists spread over 13 houses.

Whatever your particular passion, be it paintings, prints, glass, textiles, ceramics, or jewellery.

The trail covers quite a large area, so you would probably need at least half a day and you may want to make use of the regular free hopper bus that does a circuit of the trail on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday and Sunday, at Tart House on Holmfield Road, you’ll find drinks and home-made cakes served by volunteers in the garden with live music by local musicians where you can chill out before continuing the trail. (Last year they raised the amazing sum of almost £3000 for the Art House charities, Bone Cancer Research and Mind).

A second refreshment stop called Binary Bytes, provided by hosts on Toller Road, is serving traditional Asian snacks where proceeds will also go to support our charities.

Local makers of Italian gelato, Gelato Village, will be on hand on Springfield Road with their award-winning gelati.
